Relaxed Fun - Authentic Portraits

Expect our time together to be enjoyable and relaxed. I usually take a mixture of gently directed group photos and portraits in each session. Once everybody has had some time to settle in, I  will guide you to a lovely setting at your chosen location. Then it is playtime. Every family has their  games, their  jokes, and their personality. I’d love to show off yours.

We’ll play plenty of games so your kids forget about the camera and even your husband is having fun. As for what to wear, I’ll send you a “Get Ready Guide” with styling tips to help you look amazing and then I'll make sure to capture your best angles.
And forget about looking “perfect” — the goal is to capture your family just as you are, in all your real, beautiful moments.  No family is “picture-perfect” — I’m here to show off the unique beauty of YOUR family, exactly as you are. Let’s do this!

We want to make sure that you feel confident looking ahead to our time together so we include extra time for an initial planning chat and additional questions you may have.

Weekends work best for you? We can often make that work, too ( $200 extra). Living on Bainbridge Island or beyond? Contact us - we can arrange special sessions right on the island.

I’m Oriana the principal photographer, storyteller and memory maker at Purple Squid.

I earned my stripes photographing people and places around the world, working on the creative side of international advertising agencies in Frankfurt, Germany, and San Francisco, before settling in the Seattle area.
Since getting married and having my delightful “little” boy, it has been my sheer pleasure to capture family life’s celebrations and its precious unscripted moments for more than 10 years.
